The classics coming together; the silhouette of the doctor's bag and the leather bicycle saddle. Two functions in one design, functional and with a clear message; we must learn to use precious materials efficiently. In this bag only materials are used that belong to our natural equilibrium; (wet shaped) leather, (bended) lightweight airplane plywood and cork.
But there is another message: live lightly, travel light and take time for reflection. To integrate awareness into everyday life.
Viaggia leggero
I classici si incontrano; la silhouette della borsa del medico e la sella in pelle della bicicletta. Due obiettivi raggiunti in un design: funzionalità ed un messaggio chiaro; dobbiamo imparare ad usare i materiali preziosi in modo efficiente. In questa borsa vengono utilizzati solo materiali che appartengono al nostro equilibrio naturale; pelle (a umido), compensato di aeroplano leggero (piegato) e sughero.
Ma c'è un altro messaggio ancora: vivi con leggerezza, viaggia con poco e prenditi del tempo per riflettere. Per integrare la consapevolezza nella vita di tutti i giorni.
Specification
'Go Lightly' is a mobile seat and bag in one. Only materials that belong to our natural equilibrium have been used. The structure is made of lightweight ‘airplane’ plywood that is bent to the shape of the back panel/ bottom for extra rigidity. The sides are made of cork. All leather used, the exterior, the lining as well as the saddle shape is Tuscan vegetable tanned leather.
‘Go Lightly’ was made at the René van den Berg Academy for the 9th edition of the ‘Craft the Leather’ event organized by the Consorzio Vera Pelle Italiana Conciate Al Vegetale and after the presentation at Lineapelle ’23 in Milano, received both the audience award and the professional jury award.
